10th European Solid Mechanics Conference (ESMC 2018)

We are very pleased to announce that the 10th European Solid Mechanics Conference (ESMC) will take place in Bologna during July 2018.

When: 2nd-6th July 2018

Where: European Solids Mechanics Conference, Bologna

Organized by the University of Trento and the University of Bologna, the European Solid Mechanics Conference is the major event for the solids mechanics community in Europe and provides a unique forum for scientists and engineers to exchange ideas on the current state-of-the-art in the mechanics of solids, on new concepts and ideas and to identify new research directions.

We invite you to participate in this conference and to contribute to any topic of your scientific interest. The General (contributed) Sessions for this conference have been organized into nine main areas. In addition, more than 50 Mini-Symposia will be organized in a range of specialized topics. A selection of biomechanics and mini-symposia featured are:

Brain Mechanics: Antoine Jerusalem, Alain Goriely
Cell Mechanics: José Manuel Garcia Aznar, Patrick McGarry, Paolo Bisegna
Mechanics and Shape Control of Biological Membranes and Thin Structures: Marino Arroyo, Antonio DeSimone, Giovanni Noselli
Mechanics of Silk: from Molecules to Orb-webs: Franke Graeter, Nicola Pugno
Mechanics of Soft Biological Tissues: Gerhard A. Holzapfel, Ray W. Ogden
Cardiovascular Biomechanics and Mechanobiology: from Basics to Clinical Applications: Christian Cyron, Alessandro Veneziani
Mechanics of Mineralised Tissues and Biomaterials: Anna Tampieri, Marco Viceconti
