15th Bath Biomechanics Symposium
Monday, 16 September, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm BST
The 15th Bath Biomechanics Symposium will take place on 16 September at the University of Bath. This year’s event is on emerging technologies in musculoskeletal biomechanics and Insigneo’s Interim Executive Director, Professor Claudia Mazzà, will be speaking.
Papers are invited on the following topics:
- novel musculoskeletal technologies
- orthopaedic research
- musculoskeletal research
Professor Luidi Jiang is Professor of Materials and Electromechanical Systems at the University of Southampton. Her research includes the development of sensors able monitor loading conditions at the interfaces between the body and orthotic devices.
Mr Vipul Mandalia is Consultant Knee Surgeon at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust. He has extensive first hand experience of technology-driven innovation.
Professor Claudia Mazzà is Professor in Biomechanics at the University of Sheffield and she is the Interim Executive Director of the Insigneo Institute for in silico Medicine. Her research is focused on human movement analysis and on quantitative methods for the clinical assessment of locomotor and postural ability
Professor Ferdinando Rodriguez y Baena is Professor of Medical Robotics at Imperial College and leads the Mechatronics in Medicine Laboratory. He has extensive expertise in the development of surgical robots and intra-operative registration methods.
