On 11th September 2018 the first meeting of the Executive Board of the UK Chapter of the Virtual Physiological Human Institute (VPHi) took place.
The meeting, held at the University of Sheffield’s Insigneo Institute for in silico Medicine, has been initially chaired by the VPHi President, Marco Viceconti, who initiated the process of the creation of the chapter.
The board discussed the next steps to strengthen the VPH community in UK and started planning the next activities.
During the meeting the Executive Board appointed Dr Enrico Dall’Ara as President of the chapter. The other members of the Executive Board will be responsible for:
- Communication – Dr Emilie Sauvage, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children
- Engagement – Dr Mehran Moezen, University College London
- Policy – Dr Marlène Mengoni, University of Leeds
- Network – Pietro Liò, University of Cambridge.

Dr Dall’Ara is a lecturer in Multiscale Musculoskeletal Imaging at the Department of Oncology and Metabolism and the Insigneo Institute for in silico medicine at the University of Sheffield.
