Well done to Shreya Barlingay, a recent graduate of our MSc in computational medicine, who has joined SLE Ltd in London as a medical device engineer.
SLE Ltd is a London based company that specialises in the design and manufacture of precision ventilation devices for infants and neonates. Shreya will be working in an interdisciplinary engineering team and applying her specialised skills and knowledge to:
- Design and develop medical devices
- Verification and validation of devices
- Risk assessments / clinical trials
- Post market surveillance
Shreya, who is originally from Mumbai, chose the MSc in Computational Medicine at The University of Sheffield to bring together her engineering background in the field of Computer Science with her future ambition to improve healthcare services.
The MSc programme is at the frontier of medical innovation. Students learn to use computerised techniques to improve disease diagnosis and treatment in the healthcare sector. They are given real life problems from patients to solve with training in the most advanced computational medicine technologies in the world.
Shreya explains, “Being part of the prestigious Insigneo Institute for in silico Medicine has enabled me to interact with different professionals conducting the latest research in the medical devices field.”
With her new role at SLE Ltd she is off to a great start in realising her ambitions and we wish her the very best for the future!
