On Monday 1 October 2018 Insigneo members gathered together with Insigneo researchers and colleagues for the Insigneo General Assembly at 38 Mappin Street.
Professor Marco Viceconti
We bade farewell to Insigneo’s outgoing Executive Director, Professor Marco Viceconti, who provided a review of Insigneo’s performance over the past year, highlighting the sustained academic outputs and the breadth of publications by discipline across the membership of the Institute.
Professor Richard Clayton, Insigneo’s Director for External Affairs and Chair of the Board of Directors, thanked Professor Viceconti for his years of dedicated leadership at the Insigneo Institute and provided an update on Insigneo’s future strategy. Richard Clayton was one of the five founders of the Insigneo Institute in 2011; serving on the Insigneo Board until 2017, when he accepted the role of Deputy Head in the Department of Computer Science. Richard has remained closely involved in the life of the institute, serving as a member of the Advisory Board and has recently rejoined the Board of Directors.
Professor Jim Wild – Director of Research, Dr Gwen Reilly – Director of Training, Dr Rebecca Gosling – Director of Clinical Translation and Dr Andrew Narracott – Director of Operations provided updates on their respective areas of responsibility.
Dr Rebecca Gosling
Dr Gosling invited clinicians to get involved in collaborating with Insigneo and shared a new web page dedicated to the clinical translation of in silico medicine where clinical questions can be submitted: https://insigneo.org/insigneo-for-clinicians/
An informal lunch and networking followed.
